Kent and I are heading to the ferry. Thankfully Max is driving us to the ferry--the plan is to use transit as much as possible....but when I found out that it is going to take close up to 2 hours, the car was looking really, really good.
So we caught the 11 am ferry, arriving at the airport at 2, it torrential rain--in fact, taking the bus from the ferry to the train, the bus was raining on me.
We got through security and wandered around the airport which has turned into a museum. We had a late lunch at Milestones and waited for the 5 pm departure. That didn't end up leaving until 8.
We are on our way, this is a lifelong dream for Kent and I.
I remember when my Grandparents came home from their first of 3 trips to England--I fell in love with the photos.
For Kent, he is going to stand on land he owns, go back to the roots of where his family is from. A great way to tie in some loose ends of his genealogy search in the Kirkwall Library, on the Orkey Islands.
Stay tuned, there is a lot to tell!
