May 14th - Berwick-Upon-Tweed to York

So, we are now back to Berwick Train Station and we had extra tickets.  Tickets to go to Edinburgh and then onto London.  We tried to sell them off, but we only got a couple pounds for it, so we gave the tickets to a college student who bought the first set of tickets.  I hope she was able to sell them and make some money.

Great views from the train:

York Train Station:

What you probably can't see in this photo is, shortly after we arrived, three ladies walked past us to the taxis wearing pretty dresses and fascinators!  What we found was horse racing had just started the day before.  Traffic was a bit of a nightmare!

Our hotel in York--it looked pretty--but the toilet didn't flush without the aid of the beer bucket on the side of the tub, no shower and not enough hot water to bath.  It was a gem!

We dumped our backpacks in the hotel and took off to tour the city.  It was a quick 15 minute walk to this archway leading to the Shambles.

Watch your head!

Nothing seems level and all the first floor entrances are so short!

I love this, built and built and rebuilt.  It's valuable.

Kent and I stopped in a little coffee shop just outside of the Shambles and Melissa and Jon found us!

Truth.

From here we found a place to eat, we walked and walked then called it a night.
