May 5th - Standing Stones of Stenness, Orkney Island

Our next stop on May 5th was the Standing Stones of Stenness.  The stones are standing between the Loch of Harray (Horie!) and the Loch of Stenness.  Kent has been able to trace his family back to this area.  They hail from Firth and Stenness.

Melissa and Jon-fulfilling the true use of the stones.  It's good luck for those in love to hold hands through the stones.

But in the Horie tradition, you climb the rocks and hold hands.

A family photo.  It is definite as cold as you are thinking it looks...
