Fortunately, we used the ferry as a Bed and Breakfast so when we were up at 0630 when it was due to leave, but we didn't have to get up at 0430 to be in the line up at the required 0530.
We got to see the Old Man of Hoy, which was a highlight. And, the Vomet Comet was good to me, it was no worse than a BC Ferry. Last time, I cried, just a little and was nauseated for days.
Sadly, we're leaving Orkney
Old Man of Hoy
Haste Ye Back!
When we landed in Thurso, every taxi was taken up transporting the school kids to school. We took our chances and raced off the boat--found 2 taxi's and went to the train station. We had a nearly 4 hour train ride ahead of us, so some of us slept, some of us read--we just relaxed.
We were told by people on our last trip to the UK to not go to Inverness and Drumnadrochit. We didn't listen then, and we didn't now. It's beautiful, quiet, it's lovely!
When we arrived at the train station we had a driver pick us up and arrange for our car. We were literally 11 minutes away from Culloden so we decided to go there first. When we got there and realized how much it was go in and see a stack of rocks in a field. We passed. We ended up in the gift shop....spending money.
We got back into the car and headed to a grocery store and then off to Drumnadrochit. I found this place on Pinterest and sent the information to Melissa and we thought, we need to do this! I found out where it was (perfect) and booked it for us.
Baby Orphaned Lambs to Love and FEED!
Once we got settled in Drumnadrochit we took off to Loch Ness--we had tea and posed with the creature.
I scared it.
Some things just don't change, she's done this since she was little. Smashing rocks on the beach.
My loves.
Isn't this pretty! Who couldn't just LOVE Scotland??
